Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the Maisha Foundation ITEN website, www.maisha-iten.org. By using our site, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of how we operate the site.

1. About us

Maisha Foundation ITEN is a registered charity in England and Wales, registered address 15 Rodney Road, Backwell, Bristol, BS48 3HR. Contact: info@maisha-iten.org.

2. Using our website

You’re welcome to browse and use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute our content (including student photos or stories) without our written permission
  • Use the site in any way that could damage, disable, or interfere with how it works
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or our systems

3. Our content

All content on this website — including text, photos, logos, and design — belongs to Maisha Foundation ITEN or is used with permission, unless stated otherwise. Student photos and stories are shared only with signed parental or guardian consent.

4. Donations

Making a donation

Donations can be made as a one-time gift or a recurring monthly contribution, through the donation methods listed on our site (for example, our donation platform or direct bank transfer). Payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store your card details.

Refunds

If you make a donation by mistake — for example, you entered the wrong amount, donated twice, or didn’t intend to make a recurring donation — please contact us at info@maisha-iten.org within 14 days, and we will be glad to help.

  • We will refund genuine errors in full, where possible
  • For donations made through a third-party platform (such as Donorbox), refunds may also be subject to that platform’s own refund process
  • Because donations go directly toward supporting our students, we ask that refund requests be made as soon as possible, ideally within 14 days of the donation
  • Gift Aid claimed on a refunded donation will be adjusted with HMRC accordingly

Donations are entirely voluntary, and outside of genuine errors, donations are non-refundable once received, as funds may already be allocated to supporting our students.

How your donation is used

Donations support our programme as a whole — covering school fees, athletic training, mentorship, and related costs for the students in our care — rather than being tied to one individual student, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites (such as our donation platform or social media). We aren’t responsible for the content or privacy practices of those external sites.

6. Limitation of liability

We try to keep our website accurate and up to date, but we can’t guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. We are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
